We asked what challenges are faced in getting residents and group participants engaged and stimulated. In order of descending priority we found the following to be the key challenges:
Lack of staff time 27%

Staff skill shortage 18% “there is a difficulty in recruiting new volunteers who can support service users to engage in the activities.”
Lack of materials 9%
Lack of residents (participant) engagement 9% “some people require 1-2-1 support to engage in activities and we just don’t have the manpower.”
We asked what the priorities are in each organisation for the provision of creative activities for residents and service users. In order of priority we found the following priorities:
Social Interaction 24%
Wellbeing 18%
Mental Stimulation 18%
Self confidence 12%
Physical activity 12%
We asked how confident the organisation staff feel in leading creative activities. On a scale of 1 (low) to 5 (high).
60% of respondents felt their confidence level was 3/5 and 40% were 5/5
When asked if their organisation would be interested in taking up a subscription service for creative workshop activities such as the Workshop in a Box, 20% of our respondents responded Yes, 20% No and 60% would actively consider a subscription.
