Stitching Communities Together
We are excited to share that Illuminated Arts has won a National Lottery Community Fund grant to bring our ‘Stitching Communities Together’ project to fruition over the next three years.
This allows us to continue the rewarding workshops we have been providing for community groups in SE London, particularly supporting those living with dementia, Alzheimer’s and loneliness.
The Main event is our Pocket parade in Greenwich on 11th September, a celebration of intergenerational connection and creativity,. bringing together our workshop participants, experienced stitchers from our Masterclasses and established and emerging fashion and costume designers. This is followed by our Exhibition of pockets and some of the garments created for our Parade at The Hub in Peckham from 26th September until 5th October. If you can’t get to the parade, do pop in and have a close-up look at the beautifully crafted pockets and garments in the exhibition.
